To answer your questions... I would definitely reccommend a fecal test to be done. Petsmart's usually have a Banfield Vet inside and they will do a first time new patient exan for free, saves you 49.95 and the fecal test is 34.00, No way around the 34 dollars but it's worth it. I'm having my other two tested on Wednesday just to be on the safe side. They don't need to know you bought it at Petco, I don't think it would matter anyway. Banfield is just located in Petsmart, they don't go hand in hand. But Petsmarts sick animals are seen there first, if it is more serious then they would refer someone, let's say... dog who has a bbleeding spleen, to a more qualified vet who would do surgery. That's a dramatic scenario, though, just want you to be aware Banfield has nothing else to do with Petsmart. Just when you call Banfield Pet Hospital, ask them if one of their vets specializes in bearded Dragons, or at least reptiles. I frequent and I mean frequent three pet stores 2 Petsmarts and 1 Petco and I got to know the reptile/fish employees so well, I learned how they get their beardies and they mix and match all the time, that is why you usually see 3 in a display at a time sometimes two, when they sale one, they bring another from the back if they have them. You can always ask to see the ones in the back. But when you think about it.... it only takes one sick one to infect several others, and so on and so on. Believe me, the last thing I want to do is worry you, however, it is worth it to get the free exam and pay for the fecal test. Even if baby seems healthy. I learn more and more with each experience. If I had known in July what I know now, he would have been tested, treated and thriving, I'm sure. Now he's gone. RIP Lil' Buzz
Buzz came with parasites and it took a while for them to get him as sick as he was. With Love and care, Lisa
