I want to buy a new tank for my beardie and the showcase cages tanks look nice but I would like to know if somebody can put pictures with their setup and also appreciate feedback from people that has them for their bd's. I really want to know how they are before spending all that money.

I have their 4 x 2 ft. They are only 18" high and the bottom of the dome well is 9" from the floor, making temp regulation for basking a real challenge. MVB isn't an option. The front strip lighting recess does not light up the cage with UVB well enough. The floor has a raised area that is meant for an under tank heating pad, which is not recommended for BDs.

On the plus side, they are lightweight, sturdy, stackable, easy to clean and good looking.

So, now that you have it and you know the bad and the good things about it . If you had the opportunity to buy it again would you still choose it instead of a glass tank or other option? Is the price worth it?

These are fine cages for many species, but I do not recommend them for BDs. Their main faults are in the low height and the molded-in light wells. I have 3 of these cages, stacked, and I will make them work through experimentation and modification. If I were allowed a do-over, I would build my own enclosures (24" High), and I may still.

Showcase makes a fine enclosure, they just aren't well suited to this species.

I found other cage suppliers online, but most are melamine and shipping costs are prohibitive. Perhaps another member could steer you inthe right direction. My suggestion is to build your own. For the price of the Showcase you may even find a carpenter to build it for you.

theres no need to spend a lot of money on premade cages. i went to home depoit today and bought 2 precut 2-4 plywood squares for 5$ each. and 4ft by 6 ft sheet of some cheap stuff for 7 bucks. 2 peices of plexie glass for 18 bucks. acouple tiles for 7 bucks.. a grand total of 44$ and i have a nice 4x2x2 cage that works just as well.. if you want ill post a picture for you

Hello. Do you have a pic of your cage? I was thinking of buying a Showcase Cage as well until I stumbled upon this thread.

Here are pictures of my tanks they are alot more then you want to make but to use the materials I did would work great, Melamine is a very nice material to build tanks with.

If you don't want to build I recomend buying tanks from Boa Master they have the best prices and awesome tanks!

My tanks if you look at one as a single tank are 4 X 2 X 18 they give my adults plenty of room..
the other tank with multiple dragons is 5 1/2 X 3 X 2 and three layers tall

6 Tanks in one unit soon to be 8 tanks...Melamine each tank is 4 x 2 x 18 next to it is a 3 layer tank that is 5 1/2 x 3 x 2 and next to it was my old baby set up using bins I know have a custom set up for them.

Melamine tank 4 x 2 x 18 whole unit is 8 x 2 x 6 1/2 - Plexi Fronts

This is my huge female set up it is 3 layer tall 5 1/2 x 3 x 2
The dragon on the bottom layer that looks like it has sores is a rescue that had suffered 3rd degree burns from an abusive owner she will never have scales where the burns are

I just bought a cage for my bearded from suncages.com they don't show anything really on thier site but I found them through ebay and he makes it how you want it and mine was 240 with shipping!

I thought i replied i guess it didnt go through. It was 240.00 with shipping! I don't remember the exact size i wanna say 42 x 19 x 24 or something like that. They were really nice people. The website is suncages.com its nothing special but it has their phone number so can call and they will help you with whatever you want. Mine turned out perfect! Well worth the money and the cheapest I found online! They are nice people. Good luck! Again, I will add a pic of mine tommorrow.
