I have a bearded dragon and he will hiss at anyone who isn't me, my grandmother, my mom, or my dad. And we are going to go on vacation soon. Our beach house isn't that far from where we live and since he doesn't like alot of people we were wondering if it would be a good idea to take him with us since we can just drive to our location. His setup can fit in our car and we can take it with us so we were wondering if anybody else does this with their beardies. Any suggestions? thanks! :D

It depends if you're going to an area that you can secure and how active he is. With my adult I usually just bring a lamp stand and a mercury vapor bulb along with some fleece blankets. He is free roaming most of the day at home so he free roams (after I secure the area of loose bits and places to get stuck) and can return to the light to warm up. It is on a timer like the one at home.

Sometimes I bring a collapsable playpen which is smaller and easier to pack than a full tank. Darwin's main tank is much too big and heavy to get into a car anyway. Some people bring a large clear rubbermaid bin which works well. It all kind of depends on your situation and what will work best for where you are going and your little one's habits and personality. With a young dragon it's probably best to bring a big plastic bin or a playpen that can be closed off since they tend to get themselves into mischief more than an adult usually will.

I have this one and it's a really nice size and easy to pack. It has a waterproof bottom but the downside is that a dragon can climb the mesh side pretty easily. https://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Play-Portable-Playard/dp/B00KBGTRAC/

One like this might work better https://www.farmandfleet.com/products/606015-ware-deluxe-pop-up-dog-playpen.html

Or a bin like this (leaving the top off) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-105-Qt-99-L-Latch-Box-Stadium-Blue/46001911

Also, if you can get him a harness/leash (the hip ones are best), they love being outside in the bright sun with you. Just never let him loose outside, they can run like the RoadRunner.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
