should i feed my babies more? help!

I bought my Sabrina in April from the PetSmart that i work at. She is i want to say somewhere between 7 and 9 months old, maybe even 10. i'm guessing, she was very young when i bought her. I was just wondering about how many crickets per day she should be eating. I've only been giving her about 4 every other day and the other days giving her carrots/endive/beardie treats which i call meat bites (lol) It seems that many people i talk to tell me they feed their dragons like 20/day and it really surprises me because mine hasn't seemed to want to eat that much, although i think it's almost like she is "hibernating" right now by sleeping a lot in her hiding spot which i think is due to the change in the weather being cooler. Her tank during the day stays around 100 degrees and at night it cools down to about 80 degrees. She seems to be very healthy and i handle her every day & she clings to me & is very sweet. I guess i'm just wanting to make sure that i'm feeding her the right amount but it seems like she doesn't want to eat as much now that it isn't summer time. I also adopted a 4 month old beardie about 3 weeks ago and he/she is very active & is a little piggy haha! They are in separate tanks of course

ur beardie sabrina shud b eating way more den 4 crickets everyother day. maybe shes impacted, or like u sed, maybe shes in some sort of brumation. also, i dont think the adopted beardie is 4 months old, maybe 4 weeks old, cuz if it was 4 months old, hed b a very small beardie.

Is that a current pic of Sabrina? She looks to be very small. Definitely should be eating more than 4 every other day, even more than 4 a day. When Angie was eating crix (she doesn't care for them anymore) she was eating as many as 60 in a feeding. Now it's supers and hopefully she'll like her dubias.

And I agree about the other one, no way that's 4 months old - too small.

when my baby kushyy was on crix, he used to eat 20 in one sitting. ate about 3 times a day, i swear i dont kno where they put it though. i have no clue how it all fits in their tiny bodies.

thanks everyone! since the post Sabrina has been eating about 20 per day as well as her salads i'm very sad to say that the baby was put down ;( ;( it was randomly having seizures and i took it to a vet and they said there was nothing they cld do so they put it to sleep, i was devistated, i had adopted him/her from a friends sister who bred them and she told me the baby was born this past May & wasn't very healthy, i tried however there was no help for him/her =[ i since adopted another new baby beardie who is about 5 or 6 months old and he eats about 20 crickets a day also and he is very active. thank you so much for all of your information, i was getting different answers from different people.


I also have another question, i give Sabrina a very shallow bath about once a day and she poops in there and i take her out, one of the managers at my work told me not to bathe her that often because it isnt good for them, however she seems to be doing very well and it seems to be good for her. thank you.

sorry to hear about the baby :-( but i'm glad to hear that sabrina is eating better as far as the baths go, daily baths are definitely fine - good for hydration and also makes for easy cleanup of the poop ;-) did the person who told you not to do it have any particular reasoning other than, "it isn't good for them"?

I'm so glad that Sabrin is eating more, the pics that you posted of hr showed that she was very underweight. Hopefully her fat pads will ill in quikly. Are you also giving her fresh greens such as collards or mustad greens each day?
As far as daily baths, that is fine. I give mine baths every other day (I have 6 dragons) so it's time consuming. We would love to see sme updated pics!

thanks everyone!! Sabrina has been eating at least 20 crickets a day if not more & i continue to give her daily baths, i;m so glad to have found this website because from my work the other employees told me the amount of crickets was okay but foes to show they didn't really know anything!! The one manager told me daily baths can be harmful and not necessary, he didn't have a specific reason, however i enjoy it as well because of the easy clean up because she only seems to poop for her baths haha. I was noticing by her back legs she seemed thin, i'm hoping she will fill out faster now! I also feed her Kale, Endive & shredded carrots every day

Glad to hear she is doing better. Do you have updated pix? We really love pix here!!!
Also you can go to beautifuldragons.com and look at the nutrition page and they have a great list of other things
you can add to her salads to keep them fresh for her. Also maybe get a few waxworms and try as treats they are
fatty so don't give everyday but as treats to help her put on some weight.
It sounds like she is doing much better. Congrats.
