Short snout dragons?

Possible weird question! How do you determine if a dragon is considered to be a short snout? I have one baby girl that looks like a short snout to me (compared to my other dragons) but I was just curious how you determine that? To me Jess's dragon Dudley looks like a short snout too? Is there some sort of criteria hehe.

I love the way they look when they are older so dang cute! Kind of like a cross with an adorable froggie. :mrgreen: Camera batteries are charging but I'll try and take a photo of her later. Maybe she is a mid-snout LOL.

Is there an actual morph called a short snout? I've always thought Dudley had a weirdly proportioned head, but I just thought he was a mutant LOL. Do people actually breed them for this trait, or...?

There is one breeder who sell short snout dragons but I don't think its a morph, its just a variable. They are really cute, we used to have a member years ago who had a big female named Derek who had a short face, one of the prettiest dragons I've seen.

LOL @ Dudley the 'mutant'. He is the cutest thing ever! I was actually kind of wondering if he was a different gene/breed or kind too. I've never heard of 'short snout' - curious to see if anyone knows anything as well.

Boodbank Dragons as well as a few folks on the fauna classifides sell beardies as "short snout" or "pug". When you look at them, they do have a shorter face/nose. If they are mutants, they are the cutest mutants ever!

My boy Jax is considered a " short snout " dragon. When I took him to see my general manager that was the first thing he said.... " Oh cool you got a stub nose dragon "! I was like....ummmm ok then.... LOL. Jax does have a very very cute face and I just love him to peices ! He goes everywhere with me including grocery shopping. Nobody ever notices him on my shoulder and I dont know how they cant seeing that he is 20 inches long. Just tonight he and I went thru the taco bell drive thru and the guy taking my money didnt notice him at first. How can you miss a 20 inch lizard....... :lol: :lol: Here is Jax.... he is finally gaining weight and he is going thru a shed atm....

One thing I noticed is that the sides of their mouths kind of look like they go down towards the back (not quite sure how to explain what I mean) and their noses aren't as pointy. I'm going to see if I can get a pic of my girl in a bit. Shes getting ready to shed and not a happy camper LOL.

Here's my Paprika! Shes from Blazin Dragons and she is Het hypo, leucistic x Crawley/Crissy Red X Saturday Red X Draggintales Red. Her hatch date was 4/13. Shes brighter than this but her head is getting ready to shed so it looks kind of pink. Compared to my other dragons her snout is much shorter and less pointy. I can really see the difference when she eats. Its like froggie pac-manish. WAKA WAKA WAKA. I simply love her and she is so sweet!

Here's a close up of Dud's face:

He definitely has some of the characteristics that the short snouts have... A huge head, bug eyes, and a stubby nose. I wish I could find more pics of adults!
It looks like some of the short snouts have a little more rounded of a nose though, maybe.

And Paprika is adorable!! I've always wondered what Dud would have looked like as a baby, and now I think I have an idea LOL.

Hehe Dudley is so cute. I'd def. call him a short snout based on what I have seen.

Paprika still has that round face and I keep waiting for her to lose it and get more pointy nosed. But so far she has stayed like that. They both do seem to have bigger eyes too? My other dragon Cinnamon is similarly sized/aged and her face is so pointy looking and her eyes look much smaller and beady. Its like she is Paprika's evil sister LOL.

Yeah, both of them do look a LOT different than other beardies. Paprika and Dud have a lot of similar features.
This is a pic of my first beardie, who was 100% normal. (He looks evil in this pic though. He was really much cuter than this!)

OK tell me what he says! I started looking mostly because it is driving me nuts wondering what she will look like when she gets older. "Short snouts" seemed to be the only thing that looked like her.
