Shipping with Fedex

I was thinking about getting ready to start shipping out my baby dragons but i am not sure if fedex supplies free boxes and stuff like that. i know the USPS does. i got a lot of boxing supplies from them. Could i use those boxes or do i have to use Fedex boxes?

I believe you have to pay for your boxes with FedEx. It doesn't matter where the box came from as long as you use a FedEx shipping label I wouldn't think they care. As far as the box goes you need to make sure it is an appropriate size and that it is insulated with styrofoam on all 4 sides to get the max protection for the baby. Thier are some sites online that supply insulated shipping boxes in different sizes that you can buy or you can get the styrofoam at a hardware store like Lowe's or Home Depot and make your own boxes. Don't punch holes in the styrofoam it will defeat the purpose, as long as the baby is shipped overnite it will be fine. Just don't tape up every nook and cranny of the box. Have you gotten certified with FedEx to ship ?Sorry if I went into to much detail ! lol

I got my one bearded dragon from A-1 Reptile and they took two boxes and shoved them inside each other same size. put the dragon in a reptile bag in another box and had newspaper in that and had newspaper around the smaller box to take up the extra space. they also had a heat pack in it. what sucked, i don't remember who dropped it off. Fedex or UPS., but the guy who dropped it off threw the lizard up on his dashboard. At first i thought there was no way this guy is a live. i am going to try and contact A-1 and find out who they used to ship unless someone knows. i really don't want to use that company to ship or i hope that i don't get this ***** again. the lizard was a live thank good packing material.

Sounds like they packed it good but I would still prefer styrofoam insulation. That's why you have to do that because they are going to throw that box around like crazy before it ever reaches your doorstep even if it says fragile. If you pack it right they can turn that box every which but loose and that dragon is gonna arrive safe and sound. Glad yours did !

i shipp mine thru UPS and i place a heating pad at the bottom of the box then just fill the box with news paper, punch holes all around and then inside a little plastic container the beardie, send it over night and you are good to go. it will cost you about $50 for shipping tho. :wink:
