Shipping my babies.

I've been considering posting my 10 week old baby beardies on sites which might require shipping them overnight to customers. I've never shipped an animal before and I'm not sure about how I'd go about doing it. I've emailed Reptile Express with some shipping questions although they didn't give me the answers I was looking for. Any suggestions when it comes to shipping bearded dragons? Would you suggest it/ what's your opinion on it? I'm only selling my bearded Dragons or 60$ each yet some times the shipping would come up to 90$, would people actually be willing to pay more for the shipping then they did for the dragon?

We have a Get Help section at our site, linked below, that will walk you through the steps for shipping. You can also contact Andy@SYR directly by phone or email- [email protected] 303-730-2125.

Shipping a live reptile can seem daunting at first, but once you become familiar, it is a straightforward process and should give you confidence and success. We also offer On-Time and Live Arrival Insurance, unique in the reptile shipping industry, which can give you great peace of mind.

For Beardeds in particular, I prefer to use a bag to a deli cup. Fill the bag with crumpled and shredded newspaper, for both cushion and to give the animal something to latch on to for stability.

Price wise, the smaller the box you use, the less expensive it will be. A one pound 12x9x6 box, our most popular size, is going to be MUCH less expensive to ship compared to a 16x16x8 box at one pound. This is due to dimensional weight calculation, also explained in our Get Help section.

Once you have the packaging materials in hand, you can log onto the ShipYourReptiles.com site and have your label in hand in just 3 minutes. It is a quick process. From there we can arrange for a driver to pick up the package from your home or office, or you can drop it at a FedEx facility.

Again, feel free to contact Andy with any questions, he is in Sunday through Thursday 7am to 4pm, Mountain time.

Actually I received 2 lizards from USPS and was able to track them perfectly fine and received them in perfect condition so I disagree. Opinions are opinions.

It may just be my opinion, but I would never risk shipping a young or even adult animal via USPS. I've had many miscommunciations and delayed shipments with USPS on just feeders that resulted in a 4 day shipment. If you choose to use USPS, make sure you're using the guaranteed next day service.

I have always heard good things about Ship Your Reptiles (SYR) if you're not certified with FedEx to ship live animals.

Glad to hear of your success. We have done hundreds of thousands of shipments over the last 20 years (as a breeder and with our SYR service) and I have heard plenty of horror stories, but most frequently with the US Postal service. I think you will find a higher level of service and control with either FedEx or UPS.

In addition, ShipYourReptiles offers a 20% discount from the FedEx rate (to start) and we also offer Live Arrival Insurance, which no other service offers, and it can lend great peace of mind.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
