shedding

Hi I have a bearded dragon that's 2 years old and we are getting him a uv light because we think that's why he not shedding the last time he shedded was 10/15/14 and he is only 1 ft and 9 inches he looks like he about to shed with the light colored scales will a uv bulb help with shedding.
PS. We take him out whenever it warm for sunlight.

How long has he been without UV?

I'm not aware of skin shedding being an issue associated with a lack of uvb (which he needs regardless) if he is fully grown and about to shed for the first time in six months that doesn't sound too problematic imo

About 4 or 5 months

You need to get that sorted and with a good quality tube. how often in that time has he been outside?

We take him out everyday when it's for for 5 to 15 minutes

Where abouts do you live climate wise?

You need to give him day long access to UVB with trips outside as an additional boost.

I live in new York but since it's spring it's getting warmer so I've been taking him out every chance I get

Ok, so he will have gone all winter without much exposure as its been freezing here. I'd get the bulb and supplement with outside but be very careful with d3 supplementation.
