Shedding

My baby bearded dragon has been shedding slowly for about a week now and he has been fine with me handling during it. However I woke up this morning and his shedding is bad today his whole body is shedding at once now. He is very upset and wont let me hold him he is puffing his beard and hissing. Hes so good temper normally and loves to be held my question is it normal for him to act this way? Also should I try to hold him or just let him be for now?

I'd leave him be, just be sure that he's got something to rub up against and that you're misting him to help with his shed

They get really irate during the full body shed. It is normal. Leave him alone till its done and he will go back to being himself.

Sometimes dragons get grumpy when theyre shedding, especially full body!
I would leave him to it, but give him a bath as you usually would to help him shed.

Thanks for the answers I am just leaving him alone today. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what type he is I know theres different types of bearded dragons

I'm no pro, but looks like a 'common' bearded dragon, like you'd find at any pet store, i.e. petsmart, etc

One more question he hasn't been eating as much the last two days could that also be from the shedding? I shouldn't say he since my baby is so young I am not sure if it's a boy or girl.

My guy gets grumpy when he's shedding, especially his head and body. But definitely keep up with the baths, other then that I give him some space to be grumpy. :roll:

He's not eating as much as normal ethier could that be because hes shedding too? Sorry for all the questions this is my first bearded dragon and I've only had him for about 3 weeks or so now so I am still learning some things about them. Honestly I keep saying he but it's still to young to tell so I don't even know it it's a he lol

No worries about the questions. Better safe than sorry.

Him eating less could be because of shedding. If you notice anything else wrong or it lasts past his shed then it might be an issue.

Well he managed to get some of the skin off since he got the dead skin off from his eyes hes not as aggravated but he still is moody. I just feed him since he calmed down and he ate ever cricket I gave him so scratch the him not eating as much lol. Just alitte moody today but I can't blame him I guess he is shedding so bad.

as long as he/she IS eating and having regular bowel movements, I wouldn't worry too much, just be sure to offer a variety of food, both proteins and veggies
