Hi guys,
My boy (just over a year) has always been a steady eater, eating both bugs & veg since he was a little kid. & he is in great condition (I call him a fat toad) even after his early brumation this past winter. His whole life he's been an every 2 to 3 day pooper - & they are ENORMOUS poops & he is well hydrated so I've always been fine with that.
Suddenly over the past 2 days the guy is ravenous! Yesterday he ate double the salad he usually eats in the AM, his full daily allotment of worms & then waited for more salad & mowed it down as soon as the bowl hit the floor. Oh & he chowed down a dessert of grapes as well. He pooped twice in one day, both his normal giant stools. This morning he devoured an extra large salad & sat there staring me down until I gave him a few extra leaves. I'll offer his bugs later in the day but he just seems so hungry!
The only thing that lines up time-wise is that he is also having a full-body shed. Normally when he sheds he goes OFF food so I'm confused!
Should I be worried about parasites? He has had no contact with any other critters & I'm crazy about hand-washing so.. it's not really on the list of possibilities but he just is so darn starving for no real reason.. Maybe a growth spurt at this age??
Thoughts?
