My female is rubbing her head on the glass and her branch, I've never seen them shed before and am quite nervous yet excited! Am i suppose to put something in the cage for her to rub on? And I know I'm suppose to give her a bath on a daily basis. Is there anything else i can do to make sure everything goes okay? Thanks!!

Nope, just relax. It's perfectly normal. Remember though, do not pull on the shed! We would love to see some pics!

I just made them a thread. ( viewtopic.php?f=30&t=121563 ) There's no skin hanging yet but I think it's going to come soon! I still have NO Idea what color they are, It's always changing from a sort of yellow color to a brownish grey to a beige/tan sort of color. But then again I wouldn't know what color they were anyways lol. Do they change colors with each shed? Oh and they last 2 pictures on the thread were taken today :)

When they are younger, their colors get more defined with each shed. For example, my youngest beardie is about 6 months, and keeps getting more and more red highlights. Kana was just kept in bad conditions, I'm putting her age at somewhere around a year and a half to two years. She came to me as a dusty orange color with some really bright citrus side and eyelid markings, and right now she is this really weird plasticy gray color, which I think is due to her getting rid of all her old, nasty scales from when she was malnourished and kept without UVB in a ten gallon. I'm really hoping that she start to actually shed tomorrow, that would make me sooooooo happy!
The color changing that your seeing right now is very normal, they darken to warm up faster. If yours are two, you'll most likely see maybe a little bit of color definition.
Great pics, can't wait to see after they shed!

Ahh that makes since. Yeah i can't wait to see them after they shed either! I'm excited! ^^ Mine are also somewhat rescues, I got them from my mothers friend. They had them in a 40 gal tank with a 75 watt house bulb, no uvb, i'm pretty sure it was sand substrate. A diet of fruit everyother day and crickets very rarely. My female is only 12 1/2 in and my male is 14 1/2 but he's been growin a bit. :)

Gah! Fruit and occasional crickets, and no UVB! Glad to know they're in a good home with proper set up and good food now! My 6 month old is only 7.5 inches right now, got stunted at about 3 months. Glad to hear that your male is growing, they'll most definately put on some weight with a decent diet. I was just thinking, you should probably put something in their tank that they can rub up against, I've got some rocks and a branch in Kana's tank right now so that whenever she feels the need to scratch against something its available. Just make sure its nothing too sharp, and that it won't be knocked over by an itchy dragon.
Oh, and if you have any issues getting them to eat salad, I would get some acorn squash, cook it, and add it to their salad. I had to originally feed Kana squash baby food mixed with soy yogurt to get her appetite up, and now she loves squash (as long as its been cooked).

Haha Aww. And thanks!!! My friends laughed at me because instead of buying food for me I bought lights and other things for my beardies. They just don't understand :) Okay now i have a new question. Is uncooked yellow squash okay for them to eat? Or does it need to be cooked?

Yeah, a lot of people on here grate their squash before they feed it instead of cooking it. Mine just prefer it cooked over uncooked. Another squash you can use is butternut squash. Both of them are good as staples.

Ahh okay, I had chopped up a little bit and stuck it in there for them. But i don't think it would be a bad thing to cook it. I get a meal out of that deal too!! Haha But of course i'd put seasonings and what not in mine after i take out thiers. How do you cook it? Boil? Fry?

Best cooking instructions:
Cut the squash in half. Set it in a cooking pan in 1/4 inch water. Heat over to 425 degrees F, cook for 35 minutes. This is as far as you need to go for dragon squash.
For human squash, set oven to broil and put one tblspn brown sugar and 1 tblspn butter in center. Cook for an additional five minutes.
Although, eating it without the brown sugar and butter is better for you, and still tastes awesome.

do you guys think its a good idea for me to put a strip of sand paper on the glass so theres something for my boy to rub up against? the furniture in my breeder seem too smooth since its all artificially made stuff. He keeps rubbing his face into things so i was wondering if sand paper would be harmful or beneficial to him. What do you think? has this been asked already? the search feature proved fruitless. :?:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
