Hey guys,
I was curious as to why my lil guy went from eating 15-20 crix/day (Sometimes more on good days) to maybe 5-8/day. He was still active, happy, loving me (He's attached to his mama already hehe), pooping, etc but his appetite went down quite a bit. For the last 4 days or so he's only eaten 5-8 crix/day plus his greens (Still eating those and well). I noticed over the last week or 2 some shed, but mostly around his head, and tail and I thought that was it (Thinking he did the most of the shedding in the pet store before I took him home). However, when I got up this morning I noticed some more shed around his shoulders/hips. He wouldn't touch his crix at all today. Just looked at them and then looked back up at me like I was crazy.
I took him out and gave him a nice warm soak in the bathroom sink for about 10 minutes. I went downstairs to chef up his usual greens with a treat of Apple in it to entice him to eat something. When I came back up he was running around like crazy - up and down onto/off his basking log, around his stone cave, etc. I got my kids tucked into bed and had a shower myself. I came back in and his entire body is shedding off! It looks awful but it's a good sign isn't it? I was so worried he wasn't getting enough nutrition and wasn't growing. Shedding is a sign of growth isn't it? Here are some pics from tonight (The lighting is very bright, which doesn't show the extent very well, but you'll get the idea)
