My mom was talking about how big zilla is getting and she suggested that maybe we could get him a shallow "kiddy-pool" for him in the summer, do you think this would be OK if i were to fill it up deep enough for him to have fun in but leave it out on a hot day to warm it? Or would it be ok cold,i know their cold blooded thats why i'm asking, thanks :)

I don't know how much fun a dragon would have in a pool but if you do it, make sure the water is warm.

Beardies aren't even semi-aquatic, but you can use a kiddie pool to put him in the sun[ without water] when it's very warm out, just keep an eye on him. This will give him the UVB he needs and completely eliminate the need for a UVB bulb all summer. He would still need a basking and heat bulb though. If you put it in part shade, or create artificial shade, that is the safest way being that the plastic gets very hot.

I have a small plastic pool that all my dragons swim in. I put a couple inches of water in and have some bricks in the middle for a basking spot so they can get some natural sun while swimming as well. While they are not aquatic animals, they do enjoy swimming for the most part and this also helps with their sheds.

That's a pretty good idea for larger dragons actually. They would get a bit of exercise while out in the sun, too. It's not that they actually enjoy swimming, they just do it to get themselves out of the water....but on a hot day I can see the little pool party. The water would have to be quite shallow though, and the right temps, plus with more than one dragon you would need to keep a close eye because they will climb on top of each other, using the other beardie as a substitute for a brick, one could accidentally hold the other down, and easily cause a drowning accident. I don't think I'd chance the water with smaller beardies.

Well i only have one beardie and zillas pretty big,hes somewhere around 16.5 inches i believe, maybe even bigger now, getting a scale tmrw so i can weigh him,but ide say he's big enough,i was also wondering, what would happen if the water was too cold,or just cooler than luke warm?

Zeppy hated the bathtub, but he loved his blow up butterfly pool (a small circular pool designed for infants). He'd actually "dive" off my lap back into the water if I took him out. It was nice and shallow so he could swim but touch down when he wanted to. I plan to do the same thing with Xena whan summer comes. I have a toadstool baby pool tucked away in my closet for that purpose. Zeppy seemed to enjoy his little pool best when the water was around 90-95.

You could add a very small layer of warm water and keep an eye on him. I would keep part of it in the shade.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
