sexing question/behavior?

Raph is a 18" 490 gram dragon that does not have hemipenil bulges. She has one lump like girls do. I placed Raph with another female while I was renovating her tank in which she started doing not very girly things. Raph mounted the female clamped down on the back of the neck, lifted the tail and everything. So i thought she was a he.... until today. I had a definite male outside of Raph's tank and he was showing signs of submission like females do. Didn't puff out or turn black, arm waiving and swooping of his/her head. The male was acting like a male. Could it be that I have a male that is infertile or a confused girl?

She was being dominate to the other dragon. Then when faced with a male moved to the submissive role

Yes, but more then dominate. Raph went all the way. Then when faced with a sub adult male showing off was very submissive.

You know I have the same question. I own one female bearded dragon named Salem, and I'm babysitting two others (damien and phil). I was pretty sure the only male in the house was Phil until I left Salem and Damien unsupervised on the couch while I walked upstairs to show my sister how to make easy mac (lol she just moved in and doesn't know where the bowls, forks etc. are). I came downstairs and saw Salem doing naughty things to Damien on the couch and what used to be MY seat :evil:

I don't think I'll sit there for a while, but I was wondering if this was normal female behavior as well. I mean Salem has always been the dominant female as she is older and bigger. She will occasionally head butt and chase Damien (who can run faster than Salem) but she isn't ever aggressive about it.

Also, Salem just came out of brumation but I don't know if that plays a role in anything.

Well I looked through some old topics and I guess it's normal for females to mount other females to show dominance. Still not sitting in that seat for a while.

Thanks for the reply SoarHigh. I hope shes a girl. The only way Ill really know is when I put one of my males with her. But that wont be for another 6 months.
Does anyone know if infertile males still have there bulges?
