Scratching at night

EVERYTIME I turn the lights out for bedtime, my beardie starts scratching at the the floor of his enclosure.. I have a tile floor so I can hear him doing it.. He usually does this for 5-10 minutes but it's just about every night that he does it.. Does anyone know what this means? I can only guess that maybe it's a natural behavior.. That they did in the wild so maybe he's just trying to dig a home.. Just wondering if anyone's beardie does the farm thing and if anyone has any idea what it might mean

It is normal behavior. I'm not sure quite why they do it.

Dragons are actually pretty good diggers and some will dig burrows under things, or even just sort of dig a pit/nest to bunker down into for the night. He's probably trying to do that but can't understand why it won't work. If he sleeps in the same spot each night you could make him a little dig box (something like alfalfa pellets, dried leaves, a soil mix, shredded paper or even fabric scraps) might give him a little something to tuck into at night and feel a little comfier.

Frank, one of my younger rescues, likes to "make his bed comfy" before he goes to sleep.
I agree with Tater - a blanket often helps. Beardies like burrito-wrapping too
