Hi, my beardie is scared of the window he wont move when the blinds are up and if he does he moves so slow and he will sit in the cool end of his viv looking at the window not bask all day or touch his veggies or eat anything and have stress marks everywhere but with the blinds down he will be normal move around normal eat etc and out of his viv in the house or outside in the garden he wont move at all he will just look at the windows or in the sky and not move at all and have stress marks all over i thought if i kept the blinds up he will get used to it and get over the fear of the window but nope nothing and this is about 2 months worth now, can anyone help me help him get over his fear of it as i would like to take him outside and get some fresh air and real sunlight and walk around on a beardie leash i have and get some exercise please can someone help.

the best thing you can do is hold your beardie when you take him/her outside. do not put them on the ground when they first go outside, EVERYTHING looks like a predator to them, even you. and it will cause stress. just hold him on you, and when he acts scared cover him with your hand. he will associate you as something that will keep him safe and will eventually relax outside.

cover the side of the viv that faces the window. once he is no longer afraid of outside you can uncover it. he should then enjoy looking outside.
Mr Dargon sits next to the window staring outside all day. he moved his viv so he can bask and watch outside. he still gets scared from time to time, mostly from our neighbor.

Hi thank you for you reply that was great advice, should i take him outside everyday not sure how long for as England isn't the warmest of places even this time of year lol? Also his viv is all wood but the sliding doors are what faces the window one side is closer to the window than the other should i just cover that side with a towler? and start doing it now?
Again thanks for the advice :)

as long as the temp is above 70 degrees F and it is sunny you can take him outside. He'll get his daily needed UVB in about 2 hours i think being outside.
you can try just covering the one side and see if it causes less stress. maybe he will hide behind the towel and still be able to bask. i would start doing it as soon as possible to relieve the stress.

yeah here we kind of dont get that temp everyday only on a good day in the summer we can just about get that its awful, but i will start doing it right away on good days and least in my hands he will get some warmth as i always have really warm hands, luckily the glass door closest to the window is where he basks so least when he bask's he wont be able to see the window i will start putting the towel over tomorrow and see how he is when i get home from work, Thanks for the help :)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
