I recently adopted Glenn he's two he was housed with 6 others I believe! at the local zoo. until he was adopted by one of my friends with a brother. from my friend i adopted glenn so now he's all by himself....from 6 to 1;

he doesn't ever ever run unless i take him outta the cage and doesn't climb. he eats a bowl of greens a day and every two days eats about 25 crickets.....loves superworms.

My biggest issue is I have no idea on how his bowel movements were before i got him. Sometimes he'll go on his own maybe two days in a row but for the most part after 3-4 days I have to give him a bath. The worst part is i have to fill the sink up fairly full so it forces him to swim for about 3-5mins then I'll let him rest for a while by emptying the sink and letting him sit on my hand with his front feet so he gets comfy; if he doesn't go then I'll make him swim more. Is any of this ok????????? Do adults poop less? should i just wait it out to see how long until he poops.

Something I can get to see help bowel movements?? Should I see a vet?

I've had him for about a month now my temps on coolside are 81 and 102.6

UVB 10.0 36" tube

1 100W light bulb
1 100W basking bulb

Adults do usually poop less. I wouldn't worry to bad about only going every 3-4 days. If he's pooping less than that you can try giving him some sugar free applesauce or a superworm that's had a couple drops of olive oil dripped on it.

Why are you making him swim? Can't you only fill up the tub a couple inches and let him sit and relax for a while? Mine hate swimming but don't mind just vegging out, it also gives them the opportunity to drink if they want to, which they can't if they're swimming or clinging to your hand.

What brand is the UVB? The ReptiSUN 10.0 is a good UVB, the ReptiGLO 10.0 is a bad one, so it does matter.

What was he being kept on? What are you keeping him on? He might be a tad impacted if it's a loose substrate.

I can't remember which one it is....? Can i tell by looking at the bulb? If he sits there and veges in the tub he won't poop i could sit there forever won't happen; and i also don't want him drinking the water beacuse my water is softened with water softener because i live in the country so its got salt in it.

He used to be kept on sand, i have him on tile for cleanliness and no impaction.

If he doesn't poop for four days should I wait longer??

Actually, swimming is the best exercise for a beardie. Adults do not poop as much as babies do. I have one adult that poops daily and always has and one that poops twice a week during semi brumation and every other day now that she is wide awake. Both of my adults poop in water and not in their tanks.

How active is your dragon? I have found, the more active the adult is, the more they poop or mine does. Right now, both of my adults poop daily in water. I also turn the water on really low like a drip. My male will poop fast in the water and my female takes a few minutes. They both have done this since they were hatchlings. But a beardie that is not used to it might take longer. They also soak water in through their vents. I don't give them daily soaks for pooping, it's sort of like the icing on the cake because I don't have to clean a huge mess up. Maybe you should try a daily soak and maybe it will help hydrate him a little more and he will go more. Another thing is to shred some fresh squash on his salads. Squash is like a mild laxative.

He just kinda sits around not very active at all. He shed on his front leg but that's it. is that a good sign? Should i mist him a couple times a day? what kind of squash is good spaghetti i think right? Is there a way to get him more active?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
