scared beardje

So I came home tonight at like 3 In the morning. Neville usually sleeps under a log tunnel so when I've come home at night he doesn't wake up. Tonight he slept out in the open so he woke up when I came home. Obviously I he was very scared of me, and obviously I felt really bad and didn't know what to do so I covered the front of his viv and he seems to have gone back to sleep. I just wondered whether anyone else has accidentally scared their beardie by waking them up, if so what is the best course of action?

He is in my room so it's not as if I can leave or anything.

Also how much do you all think this will affect his trust of me as he is only 7 1/2 months

yes, when Tasty Treat was a baby I went to check on her and cover her. When i touched her she bolted to the other side of her tank.
i just picked her up and held her until she calmed down then put her back to bed. she didn't seem bothered the next day.
