Scales on his back

I have a 3 year old beardie, usually you can pet him on his back and on his head, everywhere. Lately the bigger scales on his back have been peeling off. Now it looks like scales have fallen out because theres like holes in his back where they should be. He winces whenever i touch his back. THe lower back scales look crooked and unorganized, i will inclde a picture. I put some olive oil on him. I heard to use Mineral oil, cetaphil, cocoa butter sticks, oil of olay. which of that is safe to use if its just a moisturizing problem?
his head scales look shallow too, is that not normal?
ok i guess i cant post pictures, if someone knows how or wants me to email them to them. please respond!
thanks for your help

You need to set up a photobucket account, there are instructions under the "Photo Expressions" section.

And its definatly not normal but in addition to pictures as much info as you can provide on him and his set up will be helpful. how big is he and hoe much is infected? How ling has he been like this? What is tank set up like including temps, lighting and space? And anything else you can think of.

I hope whatever he has is treatable and that he's able to make a full recovery.

i wouldnt say it looks infected, it just doesnt look normal. Hes about 21 inches long, he lives in a 55 gallon, has a 14 hour exposure to a 150 watt halogen and one of those tube lights which i dont even think is working right cuz thebulb is like purple, i hope thats not hurting him. He also has a 150watt ceramic heat emitter going 24 hours.
Hes very healthy, out running around and investigating the house every day. Eating fruit almost every day, and crickets every few days. i spray him down wwith water sometimes. he runs on all fours, very muscly and very fast.
what do youthink

Give him a warm bath with a bit of olive oil or vitamin E oil in the water. Let him soak for 5-10 minutes and lightly scrub at his back with a soft toothbrush or washcloth. That is almost certainly shed.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
