So, I am new to owning a bearded dragon. We got two that were "rescues" where they were owned by someone who was not taking very good care of them. I have read and read and since taking ownership of Clover, she has really perked up. However, today something about her has me alarmed. When we got her, both of her arms (near the bend) looked as though they has been injured in the past. I thought it was because she was housed with another more aggressive Dragon. The areas remained closed until today when I noticed clear/ yellow tinged fluid seeping bilaterally and upon further investigation discovered a "break" in the scales on her left arm. It looks deep to me but she is not favoring it and is walking okay. Her appetite is good. Her eyes are bright. Help!

Hello,

We definitely would like to see pictures if possible. Just click on the XIMG & upload your pictures to here.
It sounds like it could be infected perhaps, if fluid or pus is coming out of those areas. Do you have any raw unpasteurized honey you could put on those areas?
Be sure you are keeping her on a solid substrate too, for help in keeping the areas clean.
I would recommend getting her to a vet as well, for full analysis of the wounds, for Clovis.
You are housing her alone now, correct?
How is her appetite doing?

Hello,

Great, where did you upload your pictures, did you start another thread with pictures? Can you post a link to them?

Thanks. How is she doing tonight?

So, she is still bright eyed and non-lethargic, which is definitely good. I have been putting triple antibiotic ointment on her bilaterally because the nurse in me is afraid that this could become an osteomyelitis. The drainage is clear-which is also good. Could this be scale rot? I am at a loss. The redness that you see in the pictures are from her previous owner. They were closed and just started to open up. She has not been injured and is housed separately from my other dragon.

Hi there, so nice that you've taken these dragons in. :) Poor dragon, I don't know what might have caused it, there's no telling what may have happened. You might try raw, unpasteurized honey on it, it works as a natural antimicrobial and because of the amino acids in it, it promotes tissue granulation. Be sure to keep it clean + dry, only offer water via syringe or spray bottle on her snout [ mine drink that way if they're thirsty ] Never use a loose substrate [ sand, walnut, etc ] What is your set up like, including the exact type + brand of lights ? Can you post a few pics of it ? And is she housed alone ?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
