Some of my babies are getting huge and now they think they can scare me into not picking them up. Theygo into violent hissing and tailwhipping which doesnt scare me now but when they are full size, I want to know I'm keeping my fingers. I noticed that whenever one of them acts out, if i spray it with water, he turns into a church mouse and calms down tremendously. Bath time is the best for them because I can hold all of them endlessly. Even my big guy, who has never really shown any aggression, if he appears to be in "hunt mode" when i go to take him out, I spray him for a bit and he is like a puppy dog. Does this scare them or distract them? My beautifully bright peach and yellow baby, the nicest one of the whole clutch, is turning into a real prick, of course. It is probably the most gorgeous Sav I have ever seen but its not very friendly. He went into his little song and dance before and i picked him up and put him in with my feeder goldfish for a few minutes to swim around and I got to hold him and play with him for half an hour before it was someone elses turn. I wish my camera would do him justice. I'd like to share a pic of him and see what you all think about his colors.
I posted elsewhere on a different forum about this water question and 2 people replied with the same thing. Thiers were easily handled after a quick splash of water. Whats up with that?
