sandpaper as a substrate?

:idea:
I was thinking of new safe substrates earlier (aka non-loose substrates) and came up with the idea of sandpaper.. it would make the viv look great, has the look of sand without the risk of impaction, smelling gross, or harboring germs/poo/urate/parasites the way sand does, and it would help keep your beardies' nails trimmed down too.
I'm curious to know what you guys think about this.

I have used the paper made for bird cages in Angie's viv when we got her. It also has a type of sandy/grainy finish and worked rather well, although expensive! Only problem I found, is that when it does get dirty, you have to replace the whole sheet.

Yikes. I hadn't thought about how expensive it could be. I tried though.. I'll do anything to steer anyone away from any loose substrate.

Maybe it would work if you glued it onto a board or something, and sealed it?

I was thinking about that earlier when I first got my beardie but like everyone else has said I thought about the irritation that it would cause the beardie's belly! oh and it's also expensive!
