Samson's Thread

I decided to create this thread to log my baby's growth and his daily cuteness! I wanted to start from the beginning.

This was the first day we had Samson 12-26-09

This was 3 days after we got Samson 12-29-09

This was Samson's 1st bath 12-30-09

Ok I went ahead and uploaded the pics on photobucket so here they are:

This is the frame of the viv. The top is going to be where viv #1 lights are going to go. Then it is viv #1 then the next one is the lights for viv #2 then viv #2 the last spot is going to be a storage space for feeders and feeding accessories. The first viv will have a window view because where we are going to put it in the playroom is by the window. I can't wait to move Samson into his new viv. He is getting so big. He looks like a giant in his current viv!!

falcor loves to travel, a few weeks ago we drove to iowa to visit grammy, and she loved it. sat on my shoulder in her blanket for the whole 3 hour trip, totally fascinated by it all.

the viv frame looks awesome, can't wait to see updates on that, i'm sure samson will love his new home!!!

Today Samson was going crazy in his viv. He was glass dancing all over the place. I took him to drop the kids off at school because he didn't seem to want to be in his viv. He seems to enjoy the outings! When the kids got home from school they let Samson out and he was running all over the playroom. I have never seen him so active!! He looks so adorable running on the tile and sliding all over the place. I didn't realize how fast beardies could run. Oh and today for some reason he didn't want to eat. I hand fed him some silkies (about 3 or 4) because he wouldn't eat. I don't know what was up with Samson today! I hope he eats tomorrow! I think today Samson gave me more problems than the 2 kids Beardies are a lot of work sometimes!!!

Yay I got my new scale today! All the animals got on the scale today Samson is 15 1/2 inches and 139 grams. Also I took Samson out for some South Florida sun today. He is so silly! He is terrified to be outside. Everytime he hears a bird or a plane he freaks out. It was super funny to see him slither into the grass and try to hide. He actually did a good job of hiding because my grass needs to be cut really bad. I got all sorts of stink eye today. For the past few days he has been going crazy in his viv. I am seeing lots of glass dancing and destruction of the viv. I think he is bored and he has just grown out of his tiny viv. My husband better hurry with that new viv because Samson is going crazy. I took some pics of our outing today! This silly dragon made me laugh a lot today Oh he also terrified of the silkworms. When I hold them in front of him and they move he flinches! He is such a chicken

falcor is like that too when she goes outside. she's frightened of everything if i place her on the ground.

she likes for me to hold her and walk around, she feels safer that way. she's a momma's girl.

if i sit in the grass with her, then she's alright with that too, she doesnt want to feel alone!

your lucky to live in florida, the weather is mostly nice all the time. falcor has been extremely grumpy because the weather has been crap up here in minnesota for the past month practically. today looks promising though, the sun is out, we shall see, maybe there is adventure in the forecast...!!!

looks like that viv better get built soon, he looks like he may turn out to be a big guy!!!!

Falcor33 it is nice here in Florida but during the summer months we get a lot of rainy days! I think it rains every day at about 2pm all summer long. Oh and supposedly we are going to have an active hurricane season so we might get a few power outages. That really terrified me considering the UV lights will be off. I guess we shall get to that if we get to it!! What part of Minnesota are you in? A few years back I went to Minneappolis at the end of July and it was real sunny when I was there. It was more pleasant than down here because it wasn't muggy like it is here

Samson likes it when I hold him outside too. As soon as I put him down he freaks! I mainly put him down because I wanted to take pictures and I had the harness on him so he couldn't run away. One time he made a mad dash for the bushes and we almost lost him. My daughter caught him...it looked like she was sliding on to home base trying to get someone out in baseball! After that I got the harness and I don't put him down unless I have it on him.

Hopefuly my hubby can work on the viv this weekend because Samson is growing pretty fast and he seems really bored in his viv. Last weekend he built a ramp so Samson could get from one viv to the other but we could still close it off if we get another beardie. I can't wait to see the finished product

Ok so every morning is the same! The minute Samson sees me come in the room to get the kids ready for school he starts glass daning until I take him out. He's a spoiled brat! I have to take him with me every morning to drop off the kids at school. He won't even eat until we get bak from our morning routine. He's a crazy beardie Anyway, I finally got my scale so I can get his weight now. On May 19th he was 16 inches and 258 grams. He is getting so big and I think he gaines 1/2 inch every week now! I was so worried for a while because he was not growing and then all of a sudden he starts growing like a weed

As for my silkies! A lot of them have formed cocoons. Man those things will cocoon anywhere! I can't wait until the moths emerge. It's super cool to have the silkies. My kids are learning a great deal of science around here

This is Samson in a build-a-bear carrier he likes to chill in when I take him in the car. That day I had to put him in it because he was super restless on my shoulder!

they have such little personalities, they are just like a dog or cat, falcor thinks she's a cat. lol!!!

Lisa, I loved reading your thread. Samson is a very spoiled Beardie . The passing gas story was hilarious! I'm still afraid to venture outside (we live in Maryland) with Luther as I'm petrified of him running off. Look forward to seeing more pictures of Samson!

I have had Samson run off on me once! Thankfully my daughter caught him because he runs really fast. Now when I take him out I do so with the harness so he can't get away from me. To tell you the truth he stands like a statue when I put the harness on him. He doesn't walk at all I bought the harness online through petmountain.com but you can find it at petco and petsmart. I have a few pics in here that Samson is wearing his! The brand is Four Paws and it is an iguana harness. I don't care if he doesn't like it much but at least I know he isn't going to run from me. When I take him with me in the morning I don't put him on the harness because when he is on my chest he fells safe and stays put. I put him in the carrier that day because he was getting a little restless on me. He is a spoiled beardie isn't he

That had to have been frightening! I'll have to invest in one of those harnesses very soon. I love the straight on picture of Samson - looks like he's smiling for the camera. Is there any other way to raise a beardie but spoiled? :lol:

Ok so today I was in the playroom suffering from a migraine and I looked over at Samson's viv and I couldn't help but laugh. He chills in the weirdest positions. I swear he was in this position for way over an hour. I was uncomfortable looking at him but it didn't seem to bother him at all. He is such a silly lizard :lol:
