Running away

Hi, ive had Chimi for almost 7 months already (he's 9 months old at the moment). I find it easy to take him from his enclosure when I want to get him and play with him. However, when I place him on the floor or on my bed, he would stay still for around 3-5 minutes, and then run around after or find a place to sort of "dig in" (no idea why he keeps on doing that digging action). When I place him on my bed to play with him, it seems like he always runs away from me and I couldn't get a hold off him because he tries to wiggle away from my hand when I catch him. Ive read alot of posts about their beardies liking to be handled or even cuddled, but it seems like my Chimi doesn't want any of that. Is there anything I can do about this? Thank you

He's still young and they like to explore when they are loose, he will probably get calmer when he is older. Personally, I've never had a dragon snuggle and only the really lazy ones would sit still for any length of time.

This subject is right up my alley. I thought it was because she did not like me but I started to pay attention, she would act the same way as yours but close to bedtime I took her out and laid on my bed she snuggled up next to me and went to sleep for the first time. YEEAH! So then I knew it was not me but she wanted to check things out and when I picked her up she was like a child that wanted to continue to have fun and I spoiled it for her.
One thing you could try is to take her out at night time and turn the lights down low and let her have her have her run you may be surprised. Another thing that worked for me was when she fought me I would gently place my other hand over her and talk softly to her then she always seemed to calm down, also this let her know I was not being mean to her.
Let me know if this helps.

Alright il try that. Well i let him roam around my room for like an hour and then i always see him snuggled up on one corner after he does his digging.

The "digging" behavior is because they like to burrow... Let it happen, it's pretty cute.

Don't be concerned about the running around... They like to explore a bit and get out some energy. I would recommend buying a leash... Go to the "for sale" discussion board. I bought one from OgleRpets for $5. That way if he does run away too quickly for you to catch him or jumps off the bed you can get him back easier.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
