Hello everyone,
My beardie Sunvaar has been exhibiting an odd behavior everyone once in a while..he rubs his snout on his log/rock. He'll only do one or two rubs and stop, and I've only caught him doing it 1-2 times per week. And it's not a new behavior; I remember him doing it when I got him. I used to think it was when he was starting a shed, which seemed to be the case. But he just shed last week, could he be shedding again already? Or is this another matter entirely? He's 3 months and one week old.
Enclosure:
-Temp: 79.5-81 cool side, appx 90 hot side, 99 in one basking spot, 105.7 at his rock basking spot
-Substrate: paper towels
-UVB: Reptisun 10.0 (3 months old)
-Diet: crickets, dubia roaches, collard+mustard greens, 5x week calcium + D3, 1x week Reptical Multivitamin
Bathing: 1-2x week
Stool: 1-2 times per day, not runny, tubular shaped as it should be with some clear liquid + urate as expected
Behavoir: very alert and happy
Weight: gaining daily (based on weighing him every couple of days, 2-3 grams daily)
Here's a picture of his enclosure. I put the sand play box in there in case he wants to dig, but he never really goes in it. He's fed in a 5 gallon tote outside of his enclosure, so no risk of impaction. The higher up lamp is a 100 watt HO basking bulb, which keeps his rock under it at around 105 degrees. The log ramp near the front is usually around 99 degrees. Oh and the two papers in the back are a "good foods" and "poison foods" quick reference guide
Here's what his snout looks like.. I'm worried
