Hi Everyone,

Roxanne is 2 years and 1 month old today. Last winter i added a topic that she had gone into brumation for months and I was worried because she hadn't eaten and I was getting worried. This winter she is going absolutely crazy. All she does all morning long is run around her viv, back and forth, climbing, jumping, scratching at the glass etc. I feed dubia roaches, meal worms and veggies. She pretty much doesn't eat protein at all but will eat her veggies. The only thing different this winter from last is i am fostering a baby beardie that is most defiantly a male and they are side by side in two different cages with card board in between them so they can't see each other. Is the behavior normal or is this because of the baby male i have in the house? Please help me out. Thanks a bunch.

I think Dragons can sense other dragons around. I have six, and when one of my males starts doing his manly things, all the other dragons get worked up. I have recently learned from experience that when a female dragon sees a male dragon or knows there is one around, it causes them to start laying eggs like a womans menstrel cycle. Two of my females have done this, and the symptoms are running around all the time, oddly, and scratching alot. most of the time they wont eat for a week or two. Im not for sure if this is whats happening, but it sounds familiar.

oh wow...so they start laying eggs when a male is around? so do you have to have a special spot for her to do this at even if their not, you know, fertilized?

Yes they will lay eggs with out being bread i just went through this with 2 of mine. My oldest female is alomost 19 months old she slept for a month and woke up very active and runs every where but dosnt want to eat much of anything for the last 3 weeks. She hasnt lost any weight at all. Shes on the top of a triple and the male under her goes nuts when she starts scratching and running around in her viv. I think their hormones are going nuts since it is breeding season. They dont have to see the others to know they are there.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
