Roofing?

G'day
I was just wondering what kind of top I need for a couple month old bearded dragon because at first I only had my lights over it with nothing else and then it seemed to get too cold and after that I just put towells or a blanket over it but then it got too stuffy and way too stinky everytime i opened it now ive got that but with about one 5th of it pulled up for fresh air

so all im pretty much asking is, whats the best roof for it

Is it a glass tank? Most people just use a screen top, you can increase your bulb wattage if isn't staying warm enough. Even with a wooden cage, I have to use bigger bulbs in the winter.

They definitely need ventilation. Like Gail said if you're using an aquarium a screen lid will do, and higher wattage bulbs are a much better choice than closing it off. You could also use a CHE for additional heat if needed.

How tall is the cage? You don't really need a lid if it's tall enough.

Umm I would say it's about 50 cm or so

If your tank is tall enough to-ratio size of your beardie you will NOT NEED screen top. Screen Tops can block/filter UVB Rays that are essential to their health & Growth. Most Screen Tops take away 40% of what the Bulb would emit DIRECTLY without a Top.

About 20 inches and sorry im an aussie haha, and also i have a plank of wood that sits on top which has the lights hanging from it so the lights are hanging inside the cage and my beardie is also a couple months old
