Hi, I really want to make a rock building/structure for Smeagol becuase now I got him a new bigger cage (36"18"16") but im not sure on how to make it and what im going to make. I also am not sure on what supplies I would need to make it. If any of you beardie owners know really awesome and easy ideas to make then please tell me!

Go to here...this guy shows you how to make everything...check some of his videos...

it's great artwork...but the fake rock structure looks nice...but all that stuff in my opinion darkens the tank too much...I like the white bright walls because they help the dragons colors...that's if you got a expensive $150-$300 dragon with reds/yellows or oranges...etc...but I def like the rock structure...would be nice building it...but for me...I wouldn't put my dragon in there...maybe something else...like a snake or something I don't have to worry about the color fading...

Well, if you plan on using your pet as a showpiece...then I can somewhat understand the concerns over "color fading". But for the enrichment of the animal, and overall well being, a decorated cage with lots of things for dragons to interact with is always a good thing. Perhaps adding more light intensity will combat the issue?

As for rock sculpture ideas, the best one to start out with is usually a basking platform. Easy enough to learn the whole process, yet completely functional for the animal. The first basking structure I ever made is still in use. I eventually graduated to much more complex pieces, but you gotta start somewhere. Start with a platform, then make a hide, then make a background rock wall. Any of the above would look great in a cage.

As for supplies, there are lots of threads on the subject. But basically you'll need grout, foam, and a sealer. I'd go into more detail, but like I said....already been covered in numerous other posts. There is one just a few threads down in this section, I posted a list of appropriate sealers + some hints and tips about the process.

My guess is you have a regular standard colored dragon...and the "overall well being" would be letting the reptile be free in his natural habitat...But "Captured Breed Reptiles" are able to make some changes compared to there natural habitat...so when they are born into a tank...that's all they know...just like humans...years ago the earth was all trees and fields...now it's all cities and highways...are we unhappy and need to live in trees and huts?...or are we fine with cities and houses?...

That doesn't make any sense.
Your saying providing the most enriching environment for your pet isn't required because living in a tank is all they know? You do realize "all they know" is what you provide for them. Additionally the half century people have been housing beardies in tanks isn't nearly long enough to undue the millions of years of evolution.
Your comments about humans doesn't relate either. Urban cities do not represent white walls, and people have all sorts of environmental interaction in these environments. Regardless, there are those who would say our move to urban environments has indeed impacted our mental and physical health.
Environmental interactions are crucial to the development of all creatures. Countless psychology experiments have shown this in various animals. Does it play as a big a role in a creature with a simple brain, like a reptile? I couldn't tell ya, but providing an enriching environment couldn't hurt.

Regardless I have two dragons...one standard and one "colorized". Both of them very much appreciate their decorate tanks, and they both display excellent coloration. If your dragons are having issues with coloration, then perhaps increasing the overall light intensity will help? That's in effect what you are doing with white walls, but the same can be achieved while also having an interesting tank for your dragons.

But that's far enough off topic I think. This thread was about fake rocks after all.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
