Question 1: Ok so i need some help i have 2 roach bins one nymphs and one for adults or a molt away from adult hood. The one with all the small babies in it i keep find dead ones on their back. Each day i go through both bins and clean out the molts and for every 3 molts I find I will find 1 dead baby on its back. How do I stop them from flipping or is it just the nature of the beast and there is nothing i can do? :?:

My set up is a clean bin with 2 egg creats on the hot side and on the cool side a paper plate cut in half with their food on it.

Question 2: How long with a molted roach stay white for? In my adult bin I find molted shells all the time. When I do i always want to see what they molted into male or female. Yesterday I found 3 molted shells and I looked through the creats 3 or 4 times to find not one white roach. :banghead:

Thanks,
Miller

1. Not much you can do. I'm not sure why you have so many dead ones. And they really are dead, right? Because they will stay upside down for a long time playing dead. A lot of times I think they are dead, but then later they move. I'm referring to the smallest nymphs.

2. I read your post two hours ago and just so happened to see one molting. (He was in a clear container near my desk.) I just checked and can't find him. So, it takes less than two hours if that helps.

Miller,

1. Remember babies eat the adults poop so I would just put them all together. They might not be getting the proper nutrients. Also babies need a bit more heat so if you ever notice sometimes you will see them clinging to one of the adults or huddled around them. Another thing I want to point out is that the adults also help raise the heat and humidity.

2. They usually stay white for a couple of hours. Hope this helps.... :D

i keep everything together and haven't had mass die offs like this. If a baby flips over its easy if there is adults in there for the baby to grab onto when they walk by to flip back over.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
