roaches

I have never feed my 1 1/2 year old beardie roaches before so I am completely new to them as feeders. I stopped by a guys house to buy a new tank for my beardie and he breeds roaches. He had an assortment of sizes I had no clue what size to buy and how many. He said he had deltas I'm not quite sure what those are. He just gave me 5 small ones to try out. How big can I get them and how much can I feed him?

The rule of thumb on size for any insect feeder is that the width of the insect's body at its widest point should be no more than the distance between your beardies eyes.

As for how much to feed him, I give mine all they can eat in a 10-minute period and they're growing fine.

I could be wrong so I apologize - I thought the rule of thumb was the length of the insect should be no bigger then the distance between their eyes? For example I couldn't feed a full grown Super Worm to my 7 week old beardie because they are much to large for him, but the width of them is not larger then the distance between their eyes.

Again I could be mistaking and I apologize if I am!

Once they're beyond 16" or so the bend in their stomach is gone so they can handle slightly larger food, but up until that point keep it smaller than the eyes with the largest dimension of the feeder (be it width or length). Some types of worms I'm sure are exceptions if they're soft enough.

I have one thats around 8 or 9'' long and ill throw in smaller dubias with bigger ones for my bigger female she is kept with and she'll always go for the biggest one. So far she has been passing them okay idk but i figured if she couldnt eat it she wouldnt when she has smaller prey in there including crickets. Idk im no expert but just my 2 cents prolly about all its worth.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
