Hahahahahahaha this is cracking me up!! I am creeped out by crickets and superworms for sure. My roaches don't bother me. They crawl up my hand and just walk around. No biting ever! I almost consider them my pets now

I'm sorry you have such a fear, honestly it sounds like you got turkistans the first time if they moved fast. Dubia, even adults are pretty slow comparatively. I feel for you I do, I do fine with everything but supers lol their big eyes freak me out so I'm like EW EW EW EW! :lol: As to calling a pest control co about them, I asked Orkin when I hired them for a pest problem if it would hurt my colony. I had to look them up and show them what they are cause they did NOT KNOW! Supposed to be one of the best pest companies and they had no idea what Dubias or Turkistans were and I gave both their common names and the Latin ones! Clueless lol. So not all pest guys are even gonna know what you are talking about

Where in Virginia are you located? I was looking to get rid of some of my colony because it just got too big. I did give away about 1,000 or so to someone on the forum. If my colony gets larger again, and you are local, I can give you some for your colony (when you decide to start one).

I could not have a dubia in the house if my life depended on it. I'll take crickets anyday. I can't stand or go near any beetle or even something that looks like a beetle. I just freeze in absolute fear. And I mean FEAR!! :shock: Thank God we can't get them up here in Canada. So I understand you totally Blue11. I can handle hornworms, silkworms, or butterworms, but I pick up supers with tweezers. I'm so terrified of being bitten. I run in fear of wasps too. I'm such a wimp!! Ya think at my age I'd be over it by now! :lol: Before I got Draco I went into the petshops to make sure I was ok with the bugs. Just checked to make sure my phobia wasn't going to take over and I wouldn't be able to feed Draco. :mrgreen:
