Roaches & Darkling beetles

My new dragon is approximately a year and a half old. He's about 6" in body length. I'm thinking about starting a dubia farm. How many roaches a day would he eat? I currently have a mealworm colony for another animal that is starting to thrive. Can he eat the darkling beetles? Will he eat the full grown dubia roaches?

You can start a Dubia colony with 100 or more, 1k is self perpetuating. The beetles you can offer as a Treat, as they don't really offer much beyond a good crunch. They are better than the worms, but only slightly more so.

What about the dubia roaches? Will my beardie eat the adult roaches?

6" in body length? you are actually referring to body only and not including head and tail right? If I am wrong are you sure your beardie is 1.5 years old?

Yes 6" sounds rather short for a 1.5 yr old beardie. My beardie is 5 months old and is 13" long.

This is the bearded dragon from the original post. He is about 16 - 17" in length from nose to tail. My question is can a full sized bearded dragon eat and adult dubia roach ( male or female)?

Yes they can. It has been reported that an adult beardie can eat 3 to 4 Dubias per day.

How large are the animals you're feeding them to? Are you feeding nymphs or adults to them or it? Any pictures of that? Will the bearded dragon in my picture be large enough to eat adults?

He's big enough ! Try 1 at first, and see if he has any difficulty with it. I rather doubt he will as my almost 8 month old is gobbling down almost adult male lobster and turks.

Are turks not smaller then dubias? Do you like the turks as feeders?
