Roaches / Canadian Suppliers

Hi all,

I'm looking for a canadian supplier or a private canadian member who wants to sell some dubia or discoids. I've looked everywhere and I'm unable to find them for my guy. An alternate option is if anyone knows a worm seller in canada that has worms that my 8 week old beardie will eat please throw up the website, I've tried numerous ones and they either don't sell micro supers, or are out of silks / horns that are roughly an inch and smaller.

Dubia roaches are illegal in Canada from what I've been told.

I know they are, but I believe there are members (in canada) who will ship, I've been in contact with a few people already.

Hehehe ya well, I was buying Discoids locally but my supplier has stopped selling from his colony. Now I need to get some asap so hopefully someone on this site lives in canada and will ship to me!

I believe it is against the law to import the roaches, but not illegal to have them. Not sure about the legality of buying them from other people already in Canada...

Sorry for the hijack but to the ones who contacted dEEjHaY, I have questions.

I have way more roaches than I need and even taken them out of a heated closet to hopefully slow them down. Waste of money feeding more than I need and the extra work and room needed,etc. How do you ship them? Do you have to state what you are shipping because I am afraid of shipping something that could be illegal.

No problem, glad you are having success with them :wink:

I personally haven't heard any problems but I've had all mine shipped through Purolator and I don't believe anything was written on the box.
What you do is take an ice cream container (usually 2L is fine) and put all your food in the bottom, then put some egg crate pieces, throw in your roaches, put the cover on, put the container in a box, make sure it's a tight fit in the box, stuff the sides with newspaper or whatever, tape the box GOOD and send them off.

Just right FRAGILE and make sure you send it express so it gets there ASAP and you should be good.

I have no idea how much to sell them for. Never really thought about selling. My solution was buying 2 more dragons, lol, but they barely put a dent in it when the last couple of months the roaches are producing at least 4000 a month. This after having a 6 week period where I didn't feed any roaches because I had run out of the bigger ones but had thousands of babies. I wouldn't even know how to go about payment, email transfer? I live in Ontario.
