So I was just going trough my Dubia colony and trying to find some females just about to pop to separate them from the population, when one of them produced a large ball of fluid from it's mouth and onto my thumb. Never had this happen before. Was that a defense mechanism of some sort?

Brian.

I googled it but can't find anything on the topic. Would've loved to have seen a pic of it!

Maybe it's morning sickness lol

My dubia spit on us all the time. It's only when we slightly squezze them as we grab them ut of the shake-and-bake Ziploc. Since it is in response to pressure being applied, I've concluded it is a defense mechanism.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
