Ripped off at Petco ! When will I learn !?!?

I went after some small supers and they didnt have any, so I opened up the container of mini mealworms and picked them up, they were softer than the supers and very small, so I got them, 100 count. I got these from Petco. I got home and started feeding them to her, I only got about 20 at the MOST ! I was ripped off and pissed off!
on the good side , she loved them and chomped them down. Are the mini mealies ok to give her just untill I can order her some small supers ?

and about the 20 worms when it should have been 100. You better believe my butt would have been right back in that store demanding my $$ or another tub of worms!!!!

Sorry to hear BeardieBaby69. Until I started breeding feeders I was at Petco every few days paying 11 cents each for crickets, and one time I busted someone putting mealies in one container, taking them out of the others. I caught her red handed. I havent been to Petco since December and I'm liking it. I bet they will refund you if you wanna go back. If they won't the manager will. David

Yeah I dont think the manager will do anything for me, he is the one I jumped on for having the beardies on sand. LOL ! He is the type that would say I put them in another container and just "said" there were only about 20. They were only about $2 and some change, but its the principle of the whole thing. Im betting it was the container they were using to feed the ones there. They had a bowl full in their tank. The container was in the lil fridge there by the reptiles with different kinds of worms in it. Lesson learned, next time I will count them!

They say that supers are better cause they are not as hard as mealies but the mini mealies were actually softer than the supers. I was also a bit irritated when I tried to order some small supers from Mulberry farms and i was only going to get about 250 cause I was afraid if I ordered more than that, they would get too big before I could use them all. But, there is a minimal of $14.89, and 250 supers are only $7.99 , shipping was $7.75 . Yes thats over $14 , but they meant WITHOUT the shipping added. Thats just STUPID if you ask me. So Im shopping around to see if I can find some where else to buy SMALL supers at. If any one knows , please let me know . Thanks!

If that's the case it should have a weight reading & not # of worms.... Either way it shouldn't be that far off...

i work at petco in the rescue section. You wont get in trouple if you open worm containers to check but you will if you open crickets. =) hope this will help. also fill me in about bad stuff im a kid and im near old enough and im buddys with the manager and i want a job there. i would like to know why its " the devils store"

Because they dont have a clue about the animals. they have beardies on sand (death sand) . it needs to be a requirement to study the animals they have. They dont care either, they are just out to make a buck.They charge $49.99 for a Reptisun 10.0 and you can get it for 17.98 online at petmountain.com . Even with shipping you save over half. They reip you off and dont REALLY care how the animals are cared for.

I work @ petsmart here in my city. I can honestly say i go through every package of worms ( wax, supers, giant mealworms, regular mealworms ) and make sure every individual container has the right amount. 90% of the containers have a lot less than what they should. This is not the stores fault in my case tho, its the people who ship them to us.

Thats exactly why its the devil's store. Their a rip off!!! Even worse then don't take care of their animals. Pet killers should be their name.

I have ALOT of useless info stuck in my head!

I used to breed and raise freshwater fish... Cichlids,guppies,plecos,etc

I had 3 saltwater tanks... Full of coral and fish

We had a cockatiel for awhile....

Now I've learned alot more then I think I ever needed to about beerdies...


I've found maybe 5 knowledgeable people in the 70 plus stores I've been in and usually its the smaller stores and the actual owner... Usually its their or was their passion at one time...

Also had the girl that couldn't sex full grow fancy guppies when they were in separate tanks and said male on one female on another... Oops heres your sign!
