Does Phoenix push out alot of urates when she is gravid??

You may be right Michelle. She does for a few days before have what I call urate spots through out the day.They are small about the size of a dime.That is definately one of her signs.

Indeed it does not! She is a digging machine,in the box and out.What little nails she had grow back are gonna be gone soon!

Well I was just getting Jojo ready for her night time cuddles and when I went to take her salad dish out for the night I found a poop and urate between the dish and the rock.She musta did that during the day when I was at work.(and then she did another urate in the bath :shock: ) That just seals the deal because the last time she pooped in her cage was last year when she was gravid!

I remember you mentioning that Michele, perhaps this time she will lay the eggs like Phoenix is doing and things will go smoothly.

Oh Michelle I sure hope she goes easy for you! It definately sounds as if she is gravid and maybe that is why she is not losing weight either.

Actually Vicky,with all the running around and not eating so much she has LOST 14 grams since Wed
I'm busy right now uploading pics and videos from the past couple of days. I also removed the sand from her box and putting bed-a-beast in there instead. Jojo is sound asleep.

Well actually ot wouldnt be uncommon for her to drop a little weight right before the eggs so that fits also :roll: Phoenix likes her bed-a-beast much more then sand so maybe Jojo will like it to!Be ready for a messy girl though :wink:

I think the bed-a-beast might be a little neater than the sand for now.It won't scatter as much when she is doing laps :lol:

Once again Jojo is making a liar out of me.Although she was up and basking before I got out of bed at 8:00,she has been pretty relaxed.No laps around the cage yet,she only moved once,from the regular heat lamp to the UVB lamp. She wouldn't look at her crickets but she did eat a couple small pieces of banana off my fingers.

*another thing I noticed the past couple days...the scar on her belly is sticking out/raised whereas it used to be flat. Any ideas??

Meadow gets SUPER NEUROTIC when she is gravid. She has been gravid 3 times since easter!!! She's a translucent, so when she's gravid she turns a nasty black/green colour. She has jsut about dug a hole in teh background of her viv, and she climbs when she is gravid!! And this will usually go on for two week or so before she lays. I have a lay box, but last time I cut up a garbage box and made her a 'cave' and she layed the next day in the 'cave'.
Also, like you, I find she has lots of urate when she's gravid. Last time there was puddles of it!! And of course I just orderd 1000 crickets, and she stopped eating :roll: :lol: AFter she layed she was eating 50 crickets a night!!! I think we shoudl re name her Miss Piggy!
So just hang in there, they do go a bit crazy, but once she lays she will be fine. You look like your doing great!!
