Haku was a wonderful friend and the best Bearded Dragon I could ask for.
I found him dead just an hour ago
He was born on May 2nd at a breeders in Regina, Saskatchewan and when old enough was moved to a pet store to be sold. That's where I found him. I had been looking for the perfect beardie for a week and couldn't find the right one, I had held several babies but none seem to take to me or me to them. Then I held Haku, it was love at first sight, he didn't try to run just jumped onto my hand and crawled up my arm to check me out. He was healthy and active.
I brought him home and over the next 2 years we bonded well and went many places together, then something happened. Haku got sick.
He wouldn't eat, turned a black color, went lethargic, and his mouth became deformed. The vets and reptile breeders told me it sounded like metabolic bone disease, they told me to give him baths, liquid calcium and a new UVB light. He got all those things and was seeming to get better, yesterday (Oct 31) seemed to be his best day, I had hope that he was getting better! Then he left this world.
