RIP Diablo

Diablo is survived by her loving family of 4 years. She came to us from a pet store where she was neglected with layer upon layer of unfinished shed and nearly dead. She had been given to the store several months prior after living in terrible conditions. She was unable to fully use her front legs and many of her toes were curled under. She had tremors and confirmed MBD. Once she became comfortable with her new habitat she bloomed with personality and life. It took several years of proper heat, light, nutrition and eventually she stopped shaking. At times she appeared to have regained some mobility in her arms. Our biggest surprise came this year when she layed numerous clutches of unfertilized eggs. To our knowledge, this 8 year old dragon had never done this. She always looked as surprised as we were!

Diablo was a dragon who loved life and wasn't afraid to get excited. She liked to watch the family cook, clean and eat. Enjoyed naps in front of the tv in her special blanket and never turned away a soft blanket "beardie burrito" at bed time. Feeding time was the highlight of her day. She was handicapable and could bust across a tank like the wind if a fat cricket was waiting on the other side. She loved her salads and fruit was especially rewarding.

The night before her passing she enjoyed some loving from her daddy. She had all her favorite things surrounding her. She was found peacefully passed away under her hot spot. I like to think she was dreaming of green fields, juicy bugs and friends she will someday meet again. She was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise ordinary family. She will be missed and loved always. The little dragon that could showed us how far love can go at bringing someone back to life. She brought more to our lives than we could ever give her. God speed little sweet angel.
