In a previous topic, I stated that Rin does not show a preference for me by jumping on to me from another location. That was yesterday, in a response to another post.
WELL today, Rin was outside and I walked up to him, and laid down on the lawn. When he saw me, he walked up to me, then right before he got to me, he turned around. It was like he was acknowledging me laying down next to him. It was kind of cool actually.
Then my deviant boy started walking quickly toward the house, which is where he goes when he thinks he can escape. Just as he got to the patio, a very loud plane flew overhead. He RAN as fast as he could to the side of the house, and without paying attention, he ran into an old, sticky cobweb against the house, which Im sure scared him even more. I walked up to him and he was black bearded and puffed out, and he just stared at me from below. VERY black bearded, and VERY tough looking, and mouth kind of opened. He was definitely in flight AND fight mode. I was almost afraid to pick him up, even though he is extremely sweet, I was not sure if he would bite me. So I waited for the puff to go down. He must have mistook the loud plane sounds to be a predator coming after him as he was trying to escape. I laughed so hard at him as I reached down and helped him out of the spider web. Poor guy, seemed to really have a hurt ego.
Then I laid him back down on the lawn, and laid down next to him again. He sat in the sun for a bit, and did (what I thought was) the most amazing thing. He walked over to me and jumped on to my arm and on to my hands that were laying on the grass. And just sat there, looking out into the lawn. It was so sweet. He actually acknowledged me as his buddy. Up until now, he is curious about me, and looks at me often from his viv, and tries to avoid me because I irritate him by putting him back to a place and killing his independence. I just loved that he came to me and jumped onto my arm and then hand on his own. It felt like he was saying with his body language.... "Hello friend."
