Today I adopted a bearded dragon from a man here in my town, and I love the little guy. He is 3 years old and beautiful. I wanted my other Beardie Rexy (about 8 months old/ Female) to have a friend.

I brought him home and she started doing this...

That was about at 3:30pm and its 6:20 now... why hasnt she gotten tired is my main question.

She turned black, stress marks everywhere, and wants to do nothing but wave at the stud bearded dragon "Constantine" from across the room...

my goodness will it stop?

Here is the full intro with pics if you want to read it, I posted a better explanation/ introduction in another part of the forum.. with questions if you would like to help me.... :)

Thanks guys

She is showing submission to the new beardie. It is obviously stressing her out seeing him. Beardies are solitary, and don't need friends. It would be best if you could arrange their cages so that she cannot see him.

Hi there,
The robot like arm waving is a sign of submission. In short Id say your new boy is a little frightened.
You must remember that beardies are not like dogs or humans who can develop bonds with their own species, beardies thrive apart and alone. Beardies are territorial and very few dragons will actually tolerate a 'friend'.
This is probably the first time he has encountered another beardie and so has gone into automatic pilot - im submissing! im submissing!

As he's been at this constantly it certainly seems like he is not going to settle down whilst he can see your other beardie.
Id really recommend that you move him so that he cant see your other dragon.
If thats impossible put up a cardboard screen between the two of them.

After your new dragon has settled in his new enviroment, has a nice white belly and is eating well you can try to take down the screen, but by the sounds of it he is going to be a much happier boy alone.

Congratulations on your new little one.

Thank you for the advice I am moving the tanks to different area's its not a problem at all.

The video was when she first saw him so she was super stressed, her belly is not black anymore (though he is still in sight) and her stress marks are gone. He is bobbing his head it seems like but he is stress mark free as well.

I think he wants to breed and she is being super submissive about it. I am moving their tanks to avoid further stress...

even if they cant be friends... Im still incredibly excited to have him.
He is amazing.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
