Just got a new beardie a few weeks ago and he/ she is about 8 inches. Ive been having trouble trying to tame him for a while and you guys really helped. Tonight, i took your advice and started petting him after his lights were off for awhile. He fell asleep on my chest and i petted him for awhile and i think he trusts me now. I will be posting pics and stories of his life on here. Stay tuned!

I cannot figure out how to tame him. I thought he trusted me but today he keeps running away from me. When i go to pick him up, he gets alot fatter, what does this mean? Can you plz help. He is about eight inches, will he mellow out when he gets bigger?

Try not to take it personally. Your dragon is running on instinct. If you've only had him for a few weeks it sounds like it could be an extended case of relocation stress.I would start the process from scratch. Get some select a size paper towels and cover the glass with them. Make it to where the dragon cannot see out thereby creating a safe zone for him. Each day remove one of the select a size sheets. Do this daily until all sheets are gone. During the sheet removal process do not handle the lizard unless absolutely necessary but do let him see you walking by his cage so he gets used to you. You will have to enter his cage to feed him but resist the urge to pick him up. When all the sheets are removed, or the vast majority of them, start placing your hand in the cage and leaving it there for a few seconds. When you first do this place your hand on the opposite side. Keep doing this but each day move your hand a little closer. If the dragon starts gaping at you move your hand further away. But each day keep progressing until you can place your hand in the dragons cage beside him. Once you can place your hand beside him without him freaking, slide your hand under him so that his upper body is bing supported by your hand. Do this for a couple of days then proceed to placing whole body onto hand, sliding from underneath. When he is okay with that practice lifting him up and placing him down. If he is okay with that move on to lifting him up and taking him out the cage for a minute or so then putting him back. You may have periodic setbacks, and if you do go back to where he is comfortable and start from there and continue forward.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
