From the start, it was obvious our little Squirrel was going to be a fighter. We were given bad info about the UVB bulb and she had seizures. Then she decided to try brumating WAY too early for a little Beardie, and then she went through that infuriating period of not wanting to eat ANYTHING. But when she finally did start to eat, she was a little chunk! At least her tail always was. When that started to show problems, and eventually fell off on the way to the vet, he said that it looked like whatever the trouble was seemed to have gone away. The only problem that remained were roundworms and I started her on Panacur. This afternoon, my fiancee fed her 8 superworms and put some betadine on her tail before leaving for work. Her lights went off at 9 and when I went to check on her and put some more betadine on her tail for the final time, I found her having already passed.
Sleep well, our beloved little Squirrel. You were well loved and cared for by those who fought so hard alongside you. May there be lots to eat and may it never be cold for you ever again.
"Everyone and every creature is a flower in the Lord's garden. At one point, there is a time where everyone and every creature become the most beautiful in His garden and are picked because this is so."
This time, you were the most beautiful he could find.
