Respitory Infection that Won't Go Away

Last month he had the beginnings of a respitory infection. He got 3 shots of Amiglyde .05. He seemed to do okay for awhile and then he started gaping again. He saw the vet again and we got another 3 shots of Amiglyde .05. He seemed to be fine and then he started gaping again. He has a little click now and again, but no mucous either time. I'm at a lose at what to do now. He was a 120 Sb mercury vapor bulb and a regular household bulb. Temps around 105-110. He's been getting baths every other day, he eats crickets, hornworms, butters, and super worms on the rare occasion. He's been eating more squash lately, butternut and whatever kinds he can eat, collards, and safe fruits. Calcium and vitamin supplements, gets outside a ton. Should I try and order some reptiaid? I don't mind taking him back to the vet because he is a number one priority. I would just like some advice.

You might try a ceramic heat emitter bulb to keep his temps at 80 overnight. They give heat, but no light. Make sure you have a dome that is rated for a CHE. I'm sorry he isn't improving more solidly for you. RIs are scary. Please keep us posted on his progress.

What is the humidity in his tank? Majority but not all RI's come from high humidity. When Beardies are exposed to humid tanks they are at a risk to RI's. Also how long are you bathing him for. You may not think about it but if he is exposed to the bath for a long period of time this could make the condition worse or hinder him getting better.

Well he actually sleeps with me but it's about 75 degrees in my room which I think should be okay. Thanks Esther, it really is. I find myself constantly checking for even breaths as he sleeps and of course being the normal beardie slave worries to the point of no return. He's at least running around, which is better than last time. His appetite is a little off except when presented with hornworms. :roll: He could he those each and every day.

The probe thermometer says 30 %. He normally is in the bath for 10 to 15 minutes. That's where he prefers to do his business which I prefer as well.
