If anybody knows anything about this, please help!! I’m so worried about my baby.
He started acting a little off quite a while ago. I was busy preparing for my new blue tongue skunk and neglected to notice at first. He started by making this very short hissing sound, without puffing up or anything. I assumed he was burping or something. He was still very active, eating regularly, his coloration was fine and everything. He was doing perfectly fine aside from this. Today I noticed something a bit off. I’m not sure, but it seems he hasn’t been eating quite as much. He doesn’t crackle when he breathes by the way. He seems rather shy, and doesn’t often eat while I watch. But today I was holding him, and as he breathed out, a bubble of snot appeared on his nostril. I immediately put him back and started looking up causes.
I found that the funny breathing was a symptom of respiratory tract infection. I won’t hesitate to take him to the vet, it’s just that the nearest reptile vet is rather far away and I don’t want to put him through the stress for no reason.
His habitat is perfectly fine, as is the UV, temperature, and humidity. Please respond if you can. Any help is appreciated! (He’s full grown by the way)
