UPDATE: Swelling 90% down and redness almost completely gone from the white underclaw
For lack of a more scientific word
She's currently hanging out on the windowsill and the suns too bright to get a decent photo, but it really looks like I was stressing for nothing. Thanks for all your advice and support!

Hello, I noticed this morning that Bubby has a swollen toe and the usual white of her underclaw is red. She let's me touch it and pet her without shying away which makes me think it's not hurting her but it feels.. loose? somehow?
I gently lifted her toe while she was basking and it seemed to raise with less resistance than her other toes (although that may be because it's actually her pinky finger?)

The redness in her claw, sorry if it's hard to see; I've never been very good at holding a camera steady

The swelling in her toe

Pooped this morning in the tub and is currently basking. Moves normally, not limping. Eagerly scarfed down after-bath superworm. Still ignoring her greens like usual. Ate 20-30 small dubia roaches from my hand last night. Wouldn't take them from the dish, had to feed her one at a time, but that's probably just me spoiling her too much and her being a brat.

I posted another thread a few days ago: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=233122&p=1795249#p1795249
It's a long read but it has all the background information of her temperatures/eating habits/etc

It looks like the nail may have been pulled. I know that when you're trimming their nails you're supposed to avoid the white part of the nail, so I imagine that the nail got pulled and blood may have rushed into the white part. I'm not exactly sure, but that's my guess. If it gets serious, if the nail starts oozing liquid for instance, I highly recommend a vet visit. It doesn't look too bad of an injury, but make sure to keep an eye on it.

I've never trimmed his nails, but when I brought him home (again) 2 weeks ago they were very long and sharp.
I have since added two large rock slabs and a fake 3D rock background (which he was very confused about and tried to climb for the first couple days lol) and those have worn down his nails CONSIDERABLY!
No more long gashes on my arms from squirmy babies B)

The only downside to the rocks in the enclosure is the gaps they leave between eachother. I'm afraid he might have gotten a toe wedged somewhere and hurt himself pulling it free. That's my running theory.

Also, not sure if this is related, but I did notice he was missing a nail recently, on his back right foot. Im not sure if it happened before or after the move, but there was no swelling / bleeding / discomfort and I read it's fairly normal and won't affect his quality of life, so I shrugged it off and paid no mind.

My he has been in the wars .... is there a mesh hammock in the tank ? .... is there the substrate a carpets of some kind ?

These are common causes of this kind of injury , they get their long curly nails snagged and try really hard to pull themselves free and can do nasty things to their nails and the fingers/ toes , feet/ hands, arms / legs .

Is it oozing blood or puss ?
.....if it is I'd suggest a soak in 1 part betadiene in 4 parts boiled water for 15 mins , and probably a vet visit to have the entire arm checked .

That's my running theory. <<<< well if when fishing on the breakwalls, and harbor foreshore I can manage to get sinkers and swivels snagged between rocks when reeling in , as well hooks caught up on them, I can see no problem with a beardie's claws getting snagged the same way while he climbs and crawls about....

No mesh, or hammock. He's on reptile carpet but mostly hangs out on his rocks or just under them.
I do have a few small hand towels under his hide (and over a heating pad) because I thought he'd like a little soft "mattress" as opposed to sleeping on the ground.

It's not bleeding or oozing anything and doesn't seem to be bothering him in any way. I think I'm just being paranoid.

He still seems dehydrated to me (when I gently pinch the loose skin on his back it slowly slides back into place but not fully) and has wrinkles down his sides. He usually snubs water when I try to give it to him via syringe.
This morning I made a mixture of 2 cc's pure apple baby food, 1 cc unflavored pedialyte, and 3 cc's bottled water. He drank about 1 cc of the mix off his nose

Does this look discolored? It definitely looks more swollen.

Squirmy baby wouldn't hold still for a picture so I had to burrito him. I was actually going to take more pictures but he jumped out right after I took that one. He's still just as fiesty so I don't think it's slowing him down at all.

..could I use a tiny ice pack to reduce swelling?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
