This post is mostly intended to "test the waters" so to speak.

I have a female bearded dragon(Marley) who was given to me by a friend who couldnt keep her. Ive thought lately about finding a new home for her and wanted to see if there was anyone in my area (or that could afford / be willing to pay shipping) that would want to rescue her? I call it a rescue because she has MBD and is in poor health so she will need xtra special attention. I'm not positive I'm giving her up but wanted to see what my options were. She is my first dragon and Im starting to feel like having a sick beardie for my first wasnt a really smart idea. I cant afford 2 bearded dragons so Id have to give her up and use her cage/lights for a new baby if I got one. I feel horrble thinking about giving her up but at the same time I really want the experience of having a healthy baby bearded dragon I can raise and watch grow into a healthy adult. So if you would be interested in taking Marley let me know and advice is welcome too. Thanks

NOTE: I would very much prefer someone who has exp caring for reptiles
with MBD! She needs special care - not a good dragon for newbies imo!

Marley is 12 inches tip to tip. 7 of that is just her tail. She is about 3 inches at her widest and around 1.5 yrs old.

First things first...have you taken her to a vet?? If not I suggest you do to make sure she only has MBD and not some other things wrong. The vet will also be able to tell you exactly what needs to be done to take care of her..or for you to pass on to the new slave lol. Obvious one, but make sure you have the proper lighting while you have her...she needs a good UVB bulb. Has she ever even had calcium supplements? Keep updating!!!

Ugh I just responded to this but accidently closed the window so Im gna make it short. No vets in my city and I cant afford it, 50 would be one thing but with her issues Im thinking 100's. Shes got a mega ray 100 watt sb so UVB should be fine. She eats crickets gut-loaded w/Flukers orange cubes and dusted w/calcium w/D3 and no phosp. Reptile carpet/paper for substrate until payday and then itll be slate tile. Waiting on a deep dome fixture and a stand for the mega ray until then its propped up on glass candle holders. her basking temps are low to mid 90s due to new cage(same reason reptile carpet dnt fit) but Im getting a UTH to bump that up and provide a little night time heat. Also just have a single probe for temps at the moment. Oh and a 65 watt house bulb in a 75 watt fixture for added light/heat, probly gna get a 75 watt for this bigger cage. Umm I think that covers her setup.. If Im leaving anything out please let me know, thanks

Note: I have repcal w/no D3 on the way due to the mega ray.

Long overdue update here.. I found a home for Marley with someone who has the time and money to give her the care she needs. Its gonna be hard to let her go but i think itll be better for her and it will allow us to start with a healthy beardie that wont be quite so difficult to care for.

BTW if anyone knows a trusted breeder in nebraska or near enough for shipping to nebraska let me know, thanks!
