Rescue I picked up!!

I was called by a local petco about taking in a special needs beardie. They said he was dropped off with his tank and all. I went get him. He had no uvb light or basking light. Just a heat rock. He's an adult. Im adding a few pic of his rear legs. He walks with a horrible limp but gets around great. He's so sweet. breaks my heart that he's in this condition. Im thinking MBD or gout. Im taking him to the vet next week.

Poor guy! I'm so glad to hear that he's found his way to a happy home. It's possible that the swollen leg is gout. A blood test by the vet should be able to confirm that. You can try offering a bit of dark cherry extract for now to help flush any excess uric acid out of his system. An experienced vet can prescribe something more aggressive like allopurinol if deemed necessary. For now, just try to make sure he is well hydrated and give him proper lighting and lots of love and see how he goes. If you can bring him outside for a while for some natural sunlight every day that would be the best bet for now.
