She is still doing well, but has developed a round bulge in her tummy. Ideas? Her feces have been relatively normal but I still need to do another fecal float for parasites.

Hi there!
Wow is this little guy lucky to have you! He is getting awesome TLC already and I'm sure with your patience and great care he will be thriving in no time! That and these boards and the people are so great! I have had one adult dragon before named Mustashio, who passed away this past May at only 2 years old due to a stomach tumor. AHBD and many of the moderators helped me a lot with him too in those final months, helping to make him comfortable.

I too just rescued a beardie who is about 8-9months old who is missing one foot an part of his tail. He has a similar story to your guy. Previous owners say they got him for free from a pet store in June and admitted they had no idea how to care for one. They said they "did their research" after bringing him home, but looks like he was only given kale and a water dish, maybe a heat light but no UVB and he was in a 12in x 24in cage (he is 12 inches long). Never had a bath, likely no calcium or vitamin supplements etc. I know they never gave him crickets and probably no worms either. The people I adopted him from were a family that my youngest went to preschool with, so I know them well enough and they live a few blocks from me! Totally ironic! She is not a bug lady and so I'm positive this guy was not taken care of from the get go!

I'm so glad there are people like you who are willing to help out a distressed dragon. Though I am not new to dragons, I am new to rescues, so its great to have someone else out there going through the same thing! I'm sure I will learn a lot and hopefully both of our brave beardies will thrive!!
