Hi. We rescued a baby runt from a clutch of 8 others twice as big as her. Most back toes have been bitten off and one foot is black. What can we do to ease her pain and heal any infection that might be there. She is 4 1/2 inches. Very small. Got her in the tank with Rosie for now, but separated off so they cannot see each other. They cannot get to each other. This was unexpected so she has to share Rosie's UVB for now. They each have their own basking light. Rosie is 4 1/2 months, almost 12 inches and so beautiful.
The new little runt is eating well for the first night home. Just want to help her pain.
We have the Reptisun 10 UVB, basking lights, hide, blanket, etc.

 Teensy's foot is clearly hurting her. Any advise? Anything I can soak it in other than just warm water?

You can make a solution of betadine and water to soak it in. Make it the colour of weak tea and let her sit in it for a while. That should help with any infection. If you notice the black spreading, you'll want to get her to a vet ASAP.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I'll get to the store and get some right away. Poor thing had a rough start and I just want her to be happy and healthy.

You can also put Neosporin on it...but not the kind that has pain reliver. Hopefully it will heal witout infection.

I've been soaking it in warm water and going out soon to get Betadine. Also been putting neosporin on it.
I think the pet store must have been feeding them mealworms, so I have to get her to eat crickets now instead. She is taking Repti Boost off my finger well.

Is she on a particle substrate like sand? If so, take it out for now and use paper towel. That way nothing can get stuck in any wounds. Poor baby. I'm so glad she has you to look after her.

WE have all three of our beardies on papertowels because they are so easy to keep fresh. They have tiles, logs, rocks, etc for climbing and hiding.

The little one is climbing on her wood to get up closer to the basking light, so it must not be hurting as much. Still has two very black toes that I am watching carefully. The other toes are just gone.
She is not eating well, but that could just be the relocation. I am dropper feeding her Reptiboost and Oxbow carnivore supplement.
The pattern on her back is starting to come out more. I take that as a good sign. We couldn't tell she had much of one the first two days.
Thanks. It is nice to know someone cares.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
