reptisun 10.0????

Hey guys I bought a reptisun 10.0 tube and its on the way shipping I want some info on this light

1.how far should it be from the basking spot (in other words should it be over the basking spot or away from it, how many inches away?)
2. my cage is 700 mm high, will this be okay for him, or is the UVB output too strong?
3. my beardie is 1 year and 4 months old... I used the reptisun 5.0 from 1 dec 2008..so im upgrading to the 10.0 , just would like to know what is your experience with this light? is it harmful?

also!! Im getting a baby sandfire, but I'm getting my setup right first, if the cage/tank is 450 mm high, will this light work or should I get a lower wattage tube?

It really doesn't matter if it's directly over the basking spot or not as long as it is 6" to 8" from the highest point of the basking spot. My viv that has a Reptisun the bulb actually is toward the back of the viv but is still within the distance it should be.

700 mm = 27.559 inches which is rather tall but how high is your basking spot?
Do you have a pic of the 700 mm viv? I'd like to see what your working with that might help.

450 mm = 17.716 inches which is the average height for a viv. So it will work just fine as long as your basking spot is 6" to 8" inches from the Reptisun. Gratz on getting a new baby. :wink:

The Reptisun 10.0 has not had any harmful reports.
It is one of the best tube bulbs you can get for your beardie.
